Sustainability
Sustainable by not changing colour.
One colour since 2016, so every part still fits and nothing gets thrown away. What it is made of, where it comes from, and what happens when it comes back.
At Boring Collection, sustainability is not a campaign. It is the outcome of making things properly. We choose materials that last, avoid those that do not, and design for long term use, not seasonal trends.

Our desktops are OrganicBoard Pure by Pfleiderer: 100 percent recycled wood, bound with a glue made from plant residues instead of oil, formaldehyde free, Blue Angel. It is the most sustainable particleboard we could find, and it looks exactly like particleboard. Most components are metal, because metal survives. The plastic we use is mostly recycled. Grey makes that easier. It hides variation, masks wear, and quietly refuses to age. Our fabrics are from Regain, made from recycled PET bottles. They have had past lives. Now they support new ones.
Our packaging is mostly paper. Simple, unbranded, recyclable. Most products are made in Europe, so shipping stays short and predictable. That helps the planet. And your deadline.
We also think furniture should be able to come back. That is why we refurbish used pieces and take back old products. Some get resold, others repurposed. It is not circular because it sounds good. It is circular because it makes sense. For clients who prefer flexibility, there are lease and pay per use options.
We do not put green stickers on our products or build campaigns around our carbon count. We just build things that stay useful, age well, and know when to step aside for the next round.
Tip: when your chair moves on to its third user and no one notices, you have done sustainability right.

Made to last
The Tape Dispenser. Over a kilo of steel. It is not going anywhere.
Weighted, so it stays where it is put. Steel, powder coated in the same grey as the desks. No plastic housing to crack, no spring that cannot be replaced. The stationery is made to the same rule as the furniture: if it breaks, it can be fixed, and if it is fine, it stays.

What it is made of, and where

Boring fact
The Memphis tower from Orgatec 2016 was six metres high and was later shown at Design Museum Den Bosch. Current whereabouts unknown.
Circular. Refurbished, taken back, rented, repaired.
Refurbished
Old Boring products come back, some of them ten years old. Because the colour has not changed since 2016, every part still fits: new fabric, a new gas lift, a new top, a sit stand upgrade. They go out again with a six month warranty. Same calm grey, smaller footprint.
Take back
When an office moves on, we take the furniture back, and we mean it: a second life, not a certificate. What can be refurbished is refurbished, what cannot is dismantled: steel to steel, wood to wood, fabric to fabric.
Rent it, pay for use
Through our partner Pay for Use the collection is available per month: you pay for the desks and chairs you use, cancel monthly, and the furniture comes back to us when you are done. There is a rent to own option for companies that know they will stay. Rent Boring at Pay for Use or ask us for the details.
Spare parts
Everything is one colour and kept in stock, so parts are interchangeable across years. Spare parts stay available for at least five years after purchase. A castor, a gas lift, a top: replaced, not the whole thing.
Datasheets
Every product has a datasheet with materials, origin, standards and circularity, for sustainability reports in the office market. Find them on the product pages or ask for the full set.

Service
Parts, in the same grey, in stock.
Castors, gas lifts, tops, keys, hooks, refills. Everything is one colour and kept in stock, and parts stay available for five years after purchase. Mail us the product and the invoice date, and we send the part. Also for pieces bought through Lensvelt between 2016 and 2024.
Most of our products are steel in one colour, so most problems are a part, and most parts are in stock. Repair comes before replacement.
Take back
Old Boring furniture never ends up in a skip.
We get Boring chairs back that are ten years old. Because everything is the same grey, they get new fabric, a new gas lift or a sit stand upgrade and go out again at a lower price, with six months warranty, as Boring Refurbished.
Own classic Boring pieces that could use some maintenance? Tell us what you have and what it should become. We can upgrade a desk to sit stand, give a chair new fabric, or take the pieces back for a second life. Furniture of other brands we can advise on, but not take.
Warranty
24 months standard. Five to ten years on the chairs.
All standard Boring Collection products carry a warranty of 24 months from delivery, covering material and manufacturing defects of structural components, surfaces and mechanical parts. An extended five year warranty is available on request.
Motors, lifting columns and height adjustment systems carry five years from the date of production. The Comfort Chair and the Netweave Chair carry five to ten years, depending on the conditions of use, excluding normal wear of castors, upholstery and gas lift. Refurbished products carry six months on functional defects.
Business clients claim through the dealer they bought from, consumers directly with us, always with the original invoice. We repair, replace or credit, at our choice. The warranty does not cover normal wear and discolouration, misuse, incorrect assembly, aggressive cleaning agents, moisture, extreme temperatures or alterations without our written consent.
Questions
Asked before, answered again.
Does it come in another colour?
No. RAL 7044, silk grey. It is the whole idea. Everything else in the office is allowed to have a colour.
How long is delivery?
Most products are in stock and ship within two weeks after confirmation. Larger orders or products not in stock take up to eight weeks. We say which when you order.
Do you assemble?
Yes, on request, in the Netherlands and the Benelux, and further on a project basis. The Future Desk and the Coat Stand are designed to go together without tools, if you would rather do it yourself.
Can I get spare parts?
Yes. Castors, gas lifts, tops, keys, hooks, refills. Everything is one colour and kept in stock, and parts stay available for five years after purchase. Mail us the product and the invoice date.
Do you ship outside the Netherlands?
Throughout the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. Shipping is calculated by weight in the shop; for projects it is part of the quote.
I bought my Boring furniture through Lensvelt. Who do I call?
Us. Lensvelt produced and sold the collection from 2016 to 2024; since 2024 it is sold and serviced directly by Boring Collection. Parts for those pieces are in stock, in the same grey. More about the Lensvelt years.
Is it certified?
The chairs meet EN 1335 and the Dutch NPR 1813, the manufacturer is ISO 14001. The desks meet EN 527. The Light meets the office lighting norms, UGR below 16, and is DALI controlled. Each product page lists the standards that apply.
I have a complaint.
We have a desk for that. Mail info@boringcollection.com with the invoice number, a description and a photo. First response within five working days, usually sooner. At OBJECT Rotterdam 2026 the complaints desk was staffed in person. The queue was about people's current workplaces. The solution for their complaints was Boring Collection.
