Everything written about a collection that asked for nothing.

Since April 2016 Boring Collection has made every effort to remain invisible. Not everyone has respected that. Below, in order, everything we know of, from Milan to Shanghai.

Azure Magazine wrote about the modest grey tone with a suspicious level of enthusiasm. Design Milk praised our ability to make office furniture boring on purpose. TL Magazine called the project the antidote to the hype of Salone. Stylepark called the Orgatec tower a furniture totem. It's Nice That, Frame and Design Indaba picked up the film. Domus aligned Boring with a broader critique of playful workplaces. NRC photographed the chair. In 2025 Architectenweb and PI Online reported that the collection had come home to its designers. Compliments, unfortunately.

Awards

Recognised, against its will.

Milano Design Award 2016, Best Concept, for the launch installation at Salone del Mobile. Finalist Dutch Design Awards 2016. Nomination Best Dutch Book Design for the 2016 catalogue by Sanne Beeren. We graciously accepted by doing absolutely nothing different.

Boring fact

Sina Fashion in China called the collection avant-garde and fun, in obvious contrast to its name. We took that as a compliment, which it may not have been.
