Collaborations

Companies that agreed to make something grey for us.

A floor, a monitor arm, a socket, a fabric, a film. Each one made by a company that does this for everyone else in silver, black or colour, and for us in RAL 7044. Made with others, so the office can be one grey.

Marmoleum Solid in Boring grey

In the autumn of 2020 Remi visited the Forbo factory in Assendelft while a grey Marmoleum Solid was being mixed for the collection. Linseed oil, wood flour and jute, 97 percent natural, and it ages the way the furniture does: slowly, and without comment. Forbo made a short film about the visit.

Dataflex

Monitor Arm and cable guide

Dataflex make monitor arms in silver and black for everyone else. For us they make one in grey, with the cable guide to match, so a screen can float above the desk without anything underneath it asking for attention.

16:59, the film

For the launch in 2016 the Amsterdam artist duo made 16:59, a film in which one man throws one paper ball per second into sixty bins, and the Memphis tower for Orgatec. Both are still the best explanation of the collection we have.
