Launch at Salone del Mobile 2016

A desert of paper balls, a film by Lernert & Sander, and the Milano Design Award for Best Concept. A collection designed to be boring, recognised at the fair where everything is about attention.

The collection launched in April 2016 at Salone del Mobile in Milan, with Lensvelt. The installation was built on two universal icons of boredom: the desert and the paper ball. It was the sequel to 16:59, the film by Lernert & Sander in which a man throws one crumpled ball of paper per second into sixty bins until the clock turns five.

There had been no time to make enough paper balls in advance, so visitors were invited to throw. They did, for a week. The installation won the Milano Design Award for Best Concept, which came as a complete surprise. The New York Times, Wallpaper, Dezeen and Domus reported. Corriere della Sera printed a photograph of a grey chair on a floor of paper.
