The TjeerdMarie show walked through an office of Boring furniture. The clothes had all the colour. The desks had none. That was the arrangement.

For the TjeerdMarie show at Amsterdam Fashion Week, the runway was an office. Boring desks, chairs and cabinets in rows, the audience seated at the workplaces, the models walking the corridor between them.

It is the clearest demonstration we have of what the collection is for. Put something with colour and character in a room of grey, and it is the only thing you see. The furniture did its job: it was there, and it was not the point.

The furniture went back to stock the next day. The clothes did not.
