Used, not exhibited: Centraal Museum Utrecht
For the move of Petronella de la Court's 17th century dolls' house, the museum needed furniture that would not compete. We had some.
In the summer of 2021 the Centraal Museum in Utrecht hosted De poppen pakken hun biezen, an exhibition about the relocation and conservation of the 17th century dolls' house of Petronella de la Court. The conservators worked in view of the public, at Boring desks, on Boring chairs.
The collection was used, not exhibited. It supported the work without distracting from it, which is the whole job description. The dolls' house had the attention. The desks had the gloves and the tweezers.
